Delighted Tandredi Minerals secure the Selham Trophy from Stonehurst 9-4.
The last of the finals at Ambersham on Bank Holiday Monday saw Tancredi Minerals take on Stonehurst for the Selham Trophy. The match was off to a flying start from the team in red, Tancredi Minerals, with Maximiliano Fernandez and Leon Donoso delivering successive goals in the first chukka, leaving Stonehurst unable to break onto the scoreboard. The second chukka wasn’t any kinder on Stonehurst, with a further unbroken run of five goals from Leon Donoso and Orson Clarke. Dominic Jones for Stonehurst was finally able to break their winning streak with a goal at the end of the chukka, entering the scoreboard for the first time. Building on the turn in fortunes, William Roberts secured a second goal for the team in green, bringing the score to 9-2 for Tancredi Minerals in the third chukka. Stonehurst continued to work hard in the final chukka to close the divide, scoring another two goals from Dominic Jones and William Roberts respectively, yet the damage was already done, and Tancredi Minerals captured the win with a final score of 9-4.
A delighted Orson Clarke was presented with the Selham Trophy by Enotria Clarke to much jubilation.
The Xzony Best Playing Pony rug was presented to Chispa, owned and played by Leon Donoso.
