LEAGUE A

Each team will play against every other team in the league. The top two teams will go through to the Quarter Finals.

Kazak

The Kazak team has played in the UK, France and Argentina, with their most notable a win in April at Ellerstina, Argentina. Nico Pieres first played for Kazak in the French Open when they won in 2023, however it is their first time playing together in the Gold Cup.

Sujan Indian Tigers

This team brings one of the best atmospheres both on and off the field. Jaisal and Juan Martin Zubia have played a lot together over the past few years and they are a well-rounded team. They are relatively new to the scene, having played only two Queen’s Cup tournaments and their first Gold Cup tournament last year.

La Dolfina / Marques De Riscal

This team narrowly lost the final in the Queen’s Cup in June. The youngest Argentine 10 goaler, Poroto Cambiaso scored an incredible 46 goals during the tournament. Marques de Riscal play in France and the UK and have played the Queen’s Cup since 2023 but this is their first time at Cowdray.

Ferne Park

Ferne Park first took part in the Gold Cup last year. With the exact same team consisting of very experienced players, this team has a very good chance of reaching the final stages. Interestingly, they win more matches in after 2pm in the afternoon…lets hope the schedule works in their favour!

Valhalla

Another local team to Cowdray, Valhalla seemed to have the crowds backing during their debut run last year when they scored an impressive 49 goals. Emma MacRae (wife of Justin MacRae) takes the spot in the team this year surrounded by new, experienced players compared to last year.

LEAGUE B

Each team will play against every other team in the league. The top two teams will go through to the Quarter Finals.

Jehangiri Polo

A new name on the block but with very experienced players, Muhammed Jehangiri and Gonzalito Pieres reached the final of the Dubai Gold Cup in February and narrowly lost by 1 goal to UAE.

Gaston Polo Team

With their first high goal run last year, they reached the Prince of Wales final against La Dolfina Great Oaks. Their new additions, Gonzalo Ferrari is a familiar face at Cowdray in the medium goal but it’s his first time in the Gold Cup. Sapo Caset is experienced in high goal polo and played for Marques De Riscal in 2022 and 2023.

Park Place

What a year they’ve had so far, winning the Queen’s Cup and the USPA Gold Cup, this team is on a roll! Having a big presence in Florida and the UK, Andrey and Hilario seem to create teams that bond extremely well and overcome the opposition together. They won the Gold Cup in 2022 against Dubai, can they do it again?

UAE Polo Team

UAE is another well-known organisation and breeding programme (El Overo Z7) in Argentina, Dubai and the UK. Both mixed and ladies high goal teams have been very successful. Based right beside the Cowdray fields, they have been a competitive team since they reached the final of the Gold Cup in 2015 and won the title in 2023.

La Magdeleine

La Madeleine has been successful team since they began in 2022 and Facu Fernandez-llorente has played alongside Alexandre Garese since the start. They reached the Queen’s Cup final and only lost to Murus Sanctus by 1 goal in 2023. Their average goal difference for matches when they win is 4; a much higher margin compared to other high goal teams.

GROUP C

Each team will play against every other team in Group D. The top four teams from across Groups C & D will progress to the Quarter Finals.

Dubai

As reigning champions and reaching the semi-finals of the Queen’s Cup, this team is a force to be reckoned with. They have reached and won the most finals out of any of the teams, having played 10 and winning 5 of them. Hazel Jackson is the only female professional above a 0 goal handicap to be playing in a pivotal role in the team.

White Crane

A well-known team at Cowdray Park, White Crane have played a lot of medium goal and entered the Gold Cup last year. Polito Pieres is a seasoned player, winning the Queen’s Cup last year with Talandracas. This year he has won the Argentine Tortugas tournament then lost the finals of the USPA Gold Cup and CV Whitney Cup by just 1 goal in both!

La Dolfina Scone

The infamous La Dolfina organisation with a huge breeding programme in Argentina has won countless tournaments across the world but never the Gold Cup. This LD Scone team consists of the GOAT, Adolfo Cambiaso playing alongside his daughter, Mia Cambiaso. The UK is the only place she plays mixed high goal rather than just ladies. A brit, Hugo Taylor has made the mix this season and this exact team has just won the Warwickshire Cup at Cirencester.

Aureus

This team won the first high goal tournament, the Prince of Wales Trophy. Based at Beaufort with two sets of brothers in the organisation- Tomas and Benja Panelo are playing alongside Mark Tomlinson as the captain and Luke Tomlinson as the coach. Tomas Panelo won an impressive 6 high goal tournaments in 2024!

GROUP D

Each team will play against every other team in Group C. The top four teams from across Groups C & D will progress to the Quarter Finals.

King power

King Power have reached an impressive 5 finals and won every Gold Cup between 2017 and 2019! Not only that – when they win, it is by an average of 5 goals. They consistently reach the final stages of the Queen’s Cup and Gold Cup but haven’t won it since their streak in the mid 2010’s.

Calatagan

Calatagan, a new team this year, reached the final of the Prince of Wales as their first tournament! Romauldez and Prado are new to the Gold Cup but Facundo Pieres has barely missed a Gold Cup over the past decade. He also won the Argentine Open in December so is on top form.

Bangash Polo Team

A relatively ‘green’ team. They first took part in the Gold Cup in 2024. With two new players- Felix is new to the high goal scene in the UK but Alfredo Capella is a seasoned pro and played for Ojo Caliente and Valhalla last year in the high goal.

Signet / Thai Polo

With Thai Polo clubs in Thailand and Argentina, the organisation is now established in the UK. The team has played the Queen’s Cup twice but it is their first time in the Gold Cup. Likely the youngest team in the tournament, it’s Tommy’s first season at the high-goal level, while his teammates bring solid experience – Louis recently lifted the USPA Gold Cup with Park Place, and Teodoro claimed the Gold Cup in Dubai with UAE.
