Chris Bethell
Polo Manager
Chris has been at Cowdray for the past 21 years. In the early years as a player he helped the then chairman. When a role for assistant polo manager presented itself, Chris jumped at the chance. Not long after, Chris was promoted to polo manager and has held the post ever since. Chris is instrumental to the running of all polo operations including the hard-working grounds team.
Matt Sim
AssisTANT Polo Manager
Matt joined Cowdray Park Polo Club as part of a university placement, and having experienced that first season, he never left. Matt’s role is to support the Polo Manager in the successful execution of tournaments and provide support to patrons and playing members. He manages team entries, chukkas and scheduling all tournaments played at Cowdray. You will see Matt on the side-lines with his trusty dog, Hibou.
Martine Hartridge
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Providing operational oversight and direction to the polo club, Martine aims to drive the continued success and growth of the business. Her role encapsulates everything from overseeing operations, finance, human resources, and partnerships to producing all marketing strategy and managing press relations.
Fleur Turner
SALE & MARKETING EXECUTIVE
Known to many in the Cowdray polo community, Fleur has previously been a playing member of the Club. Fleur’s role within the Club is broad, encompasses all things social membership- including events -marketing, and hospitality sales. She is also the client contact for our partners, making sure they are supported on the day to day execution of their brand storytelling.
Ellie o'malley
Match Staff Supervisor
Having grown up in Midhurst and with a passion for horses, Ellie started working in the sport of polo in 2008 and has experience internationally and at all levels. As match staff supervisor, Ellie’s role will be to ensure the daily match staff are all fully equipped and informed for the day’s events so that all the games run smoothly. You will find her pitch-side, supporting polo management with the execution of all tournaments.
Lucy Schryver
Polo Executive
Having worked in polo as both a groom and seasonal polo executive for Cowdray, Lucy has a wealth of polo experience. Now charged with delivering administrative support to the polo management team, Lucy will also be found at presentations, ensuring the smooth running of our prize giving ceremonies.
