The 1921 Cup final, held on the 23rd of July saw DJ Cats take on Bad Boys Polo Team, at Ambersham 2.
David Turner (0) rode out at 1 for DJ Cats, with Ashley Glennie (0) at 2, Hazel Jackson (2) at 3, and 5-goaler Jimbo Fewster at Back. Mathieu Van Delden Jnr (0) wore the number 1 shirt for Bad Boys Polo Team, with his father Mathieu Van Delden (0) at 2, Ollie Cork (4) at 3, and Matt Evetts (3) at Back.
The first chukka started with a successful penalty in favor of Bad Boys, however Fewster quickly responded with a goal for DJ Cats, but a goal for Evetts left Bad Boys leading 2-1. In the second DJ Cats dominated with fantastic teamwork to see 2 further goals for Fewster and a brilliant goal for Glennie, leaving DJ Cats ahead 4-2 going into half-time.
Bad Boys were not giving up in the third with 2 brilliant goals by Cork to equalize 4 -4 going into the final chukka. With everything to play for in the last DJ Cats had a final push seeing an incredible hattrick of goals by Fewster, cementing them victorious 7 goals to 4.
A delighted David Turner stepped forward to collect the 1921 Cup from Erina Uhl. With the X-Zony Best Playing Pony rug being presented to ‘Casita’ Played by Jimbo Fewster and owned/ bred by Jim Gilmore.
