Cowdray Park Polo Club is proud to announce St. Regis Hotels & Resorts as the title sponsor of the prestigious British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup 2026, marking the beginning of an exciting new partnership between two globally recognised names synonymous with heritage, elegance and uncompromising excellence.

Officially named; St. Regis British Open for the Cowdray Gold Cup, the tournament will begin on 24 June 2026 and culminate in the Final on Sunday 19 July 2026 at the iconic Lawns grounds in West Sussex, where the world’s finest polo players and patrons will compete for one of the sport’s most coveted trophies.

Widely regarded as one of the premier tournaments in international polo, the British Open represents the pinnacle of the English polo season, sitting proudly alongside the U.S Open and Argentine Open in the global calendar. Set against the rolling landscape of the South Downs National Park, Cowdray Park Polo Club is internationally revered for its immaculate grounds, sporting heritage and unmistakable atmosphere of understated British luxury. The famous Lawns grounds have witnessed decades of iconic sporting moments and continue to serve as the spiritual home of British polo.

This partnership is rooted in the heritage of St. Regis. Founded by John Jacob Astor IV in 1904, the brand has long been associated with the refined leisure pursuits of the Gilded Age, when polo emerged as a symbol of elegance, social connection and prestige.

“Polo has long been part of  St. Regis Hotels & Resorts legacy, embodying the commitment to excellence  and sense of occasion at the heart of our brand. As we prepare for the highly anticipated debut of The St. Regis London later this year, partnering with Cowdray, one of the UK’s most esteemed names, marks a fitting celebration of British tradition, modern luxury and the enduring spirit of the sport.” said Helen Leighton, Vice President Luxury Brands, EMEA, Marriott International.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome St. Regis as title sponsor of the British Open for the Cowdray Gold Cup 2026.
