La Berta Raise the PSI Trophy

The penultimate weekend of the season saw the PSI Trophy final play out on a bustling Ambersham1, with Strategic Help for Heroes taking on La Berta in the last 8-goal of the season.

Peter O’Rorke (0) wore the number 1 shirt for Strategic Help for Heroes (Strategic), with Sam Wisbey (1) at 2, 4-goaler Ollie Cork at 3, and Matt Evetts (3) at Back. For La Berta, Bruno Bensoussan (0) rode out at 1, Bella Lavinia (0) at 2, Juan Cruz Araya (4) at 3, and Santiago Araya (4) at Back.

The action-packed game saw close play by both sides, with the scores being equal right up until the last plays, where La Berta ultimately walked away victorious 7-6.

The game saw a slow start with just a 40-yard penalty being scored by Juan Cruz Araya in the first, giving an early lead to La Berta. However, the second chukka saw lots of action with brilliant goals by Cork and O’Rorke to put Strategic on the scoreboard, but an unstoppable La Berta responded with a flurry of goals credited across the team, leaving them leading 4-2 going into halftime.

In the third chukka the tides started to turn for Strategic, with a brilliant goal by Wisbey and two more goals by Cork, but another successful penalty conversion for Juan Cruz Araya meant both sides went into the final chukka even on 5-5. With everything to play for Juan Cruz opened the fourth with a brilliant goal, but Cork wasn’t conceding responding quickly with another goal, but with only minutes left Juan Cruz wrapped up the game with a final goal to cement victory for La Berta.

An overjoyed Bruno Bensoussan stepped down to collect the PSI Trophy from Phillie James, the stepdaughter of the late Terry Hanlon. The X-Zony Best Playing Pony Rug was awarded to Pataia played by Santiago Araya.
