It is certainly very chilly at Cowdray this week. The thermometer has been hovering on the zero-degree mark but, despite this, work continues around the grounds and in the workshop to make sure that everything is prepared and ready for the start of the 2021 season.
We would like to take this opportunity of thanking King Power for their wonderful support as the title sponsor of the Gold Cup for the past 3 years which they have decided to discontinue. It has been a privilege to work with them and we look forward to seeing the King Power team playing again this season. Our team are busy working to secure new partners for this prestigious tournament for 2021 onwards, so keep your eyes peeled for exciting announcements
We are running a series of Q & A sessions on our Instagram site, featuring some of the people behind the scenes in the polo world. For those of you who do not have access to Instagram a copy of the session with Gus Old, personal trainer to many teams who play here, can be seen here on our Cowdray Polo YouTube channel. This week we are interviewing Mark Beaumont, the club photographer, who will give a focus (pun intended) on the different elements of his work as well as offering tips and hints on capturing the perfect shot. It has been released on our Instagram stories today and we will post a link to the interview on youtube channel via our website.
Despite the chill, signs of spring are budding at every turn, a reminder that even on the darkest days, sunnier times lie ahead. We are so grateful for all your support and patience as we wait for a time when we can give you some concrete news and plans. We look forward to reuniting with you all when it’s safe, and enjoying some world-class polo.
