Cowdray Park Polo Club’s 2017 season benefits from another new sponsor. Apes Hill Club, Barbados, will sponsor the 2017 Texaco, one of the club’s most iconic trophies.
Played at 12 goal level, and with matches continuing through the early weeks of the Gold Cup, the Texaco tournament opens on 20th June with the Final being played on 8th July.
An additional prize for the Patron of the winning team will be a week’s holiday in a beautiful villa at the stunning luxury lifestyle resort, Apes Hill Club, Barbados, the brainchild of Sir Charles Williams who recently won a Lifetime Achievement Award for his services to polo over many decades.
Apes Hill is a world-class golf and polo community located 1,000 ft above sea level with panoramic views of the meeting of the Atlantic Ocean with the Caribbean Sea from the manicured acres of the championship-level golf course. A magnificent clubhouse was completed in 2016.
A family-owned and operated development, Apes Hill Club offers a range of luxury properties to rent or the opportunity to buy exceptional property from courtyard villas to large estate homes. Bespoke land and villa packages are also available to develop the Caribbean home of your dreams.
Sir Charles Williams says: “Cowdray Park has been a very special polo destination for me since the 1970s. I wish everyone taking part in this year’s Texaco Cup the best of luck and I look forward to welcoming the winning patron to Apes Hill Club, Barbados, in due time.”
General Manager of Cowdray Park Polo Club, Matt Petersen says: “It is a great pleasure to have Apes Hill Club, Barbados, as the sponsor of the prestigious Texaco Trophy at Cowdray Park Polo Club. The timing of this partnership couldn’t be better with Sir Charles Williams winning the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Polo Awards. As a world class polo centre, the tie-in with Cowdray Park as the home of British Polo couldn’t be more appropriate and we are very proud to have established this partnership.”
