Cowdray Park Polo Club is recognized worldwide as the Home of British Polo, competitive polo first being played at Cowdray in 1910. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the 16,500 acre estate of the Viscount Cowdray, the club projects a refined country house image, understated and quietly elegant.
Since 1956 the club has been the venue for the British Open Polo Championships, one of the top three tournaments in the world. The three week tournament attracts a huge following of polo aficionados, many coming from overseas to see the crème de la crème of High Goal action as the world’s leading players battle for the Gold Cup, the most coveted trophy in the sport. The Gold Cup for the British Open is sponsored by King Power
Whilst the Gold Cup tournament is undoubtedly the busiest period, there are many opportunities for sponsorship throughout the entire polo season, which opens at the beginning of May and closes at the end of September with some 20 tournaments being played annually. Polo is played every weekend, Bank Holiday Monday and most weekdays.
